earthworms. you would want European Nightcrawlers (Dendrabaena Veneta) since they can grow to be 8" long, and are perfect for a large oscar, and the small ones for growing fish.
not nearly as dirty as you may think, cheap, and they breed like a convict in heat. need nothing more than a large plastic tub, some peat-poss or nice clean potting soil, and then just feed veggi scraps from the kitchen.
