Breeding Fish For Human Consuption

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I live on over 2 acres of land here in AZ.
The temp. here is from 120+ in the summer to 40-50 in the winter.
Im planning on building a 80 X 45 X 5-9' pond.

That main pond would be set up for breeding and growing.

I would raise the fry in another pond.

My original plans were for channel cats and tilapia.

Here's a link on Tilapia breeding that someone posted once, I think it was Ash.

P. Bass won't survive your winters. The Summer? If they survive 120, you will also have no problems with ich.:grinyes:

I think the tilapia are tough fish they will survive all your weather.

A one acre+ pond will be cool.:D

here in my country tilapia farmers are so ****ing rich coz the fish is in demand at the market. lucky tilapia breeders..

What happened to the Bangus farmers?

Fish caught in a lake are food, and fish sticks are definitely food, fish we keep in a tank or pond are not food, they are pets. Don't eat your pets.

hehe....tell that to a certain CentralMayhem and his two red devils!!:D

Man, that was such a waste....that red RD was one of the nicest I've seen.
