People are always asking "What should i breed?" SO what DO you breed and of cource how much money do u get for them? ANd do you give them to a petco/petsmart or a mom and pop LFS? Tell us if you would recommend it to.

I mentioned this in a previous thread. i used to work for PetsMart back in the day and when people tried to bring in fish for cash or store credit I was told "it is against store policy"...I took that as they must have a real strict agreement with their vendors. I also used to work with a lfs and we used to give store credit all the time for fish. If i were planning to breed for money, i would first devlop a real good relationship with the owner of a lfs...that will really come in handy!

you can't get a dime from any of the large chain pet stores. end of story

alright well i got 15dollars in store credit for some pacus. and the owner knows me and says im the one who knos so much.

If you "knos" so much, you would not have bought pacus (plural) if you could not house them for life.

At my store we give nothing for Pacu and will not order them for anyone. We will take them from a customer in effort to prevent the fish from being released in a local waterway or killed. Since petsmart sells these fish there is no need for us to do the same.

From my experience in Holland the bigger chain stores don't seem to take in fish.

Smaller LFS will do, I've never gotten store credit and never been offered money when I brought up the idea of bring in spawn. They'll quite happily take in some, but don't think they'd give me any money.

This is for my JD's, and any other CA/SA cichlids. Most people here seem to be more into african fish.

I kno alot now. not them and thats not even the point!:chillpill:

I got a small store near me. I get about half what they sell the fish for in credit. So like if the fish was 10$ i get 5$ if there the same size good health and they can trust me.
