I have two blue crayfish who breed with no problems. Female carried the babies in her tail just fine too, but none of the babies survived long after she let them go. Any tips on getting the babies to live?

Remove the parents and offers sinking pellets and aquatic plants to youngsters. Nori is another good food because of its iodine content, as they tend to become deficient.

Awesome will try! They're romancing again so I know I'll get another chance.

I bought a single marble crayfish last summer, and now my tank is being overrun with crayfish. The only thing special I did was ignore her for months, as I thought she had escaped (and I was super pregnant with twins). One day, I saw TONS of tiny little crayfish.

They reproduce via apomictic parthenogenesis, which means they produce eggs by mitosis instead of meiosis (Like aphids), and all progeny have a full chromosome set identical to the mother's.
