I have a 90 gallon and I don't plan on upgrading to a larger tank for a LONG time. I really want to breed frontosa. I am wondering if it is possible to do so in my 90 gallon. With something like 1 male and 3 females perhaps? Let me know what you think. I am especially a fan of the blue zaire mikula, but what kind of frontosa would be best for a 90?

You may be able to get away with 1m/3-4f in a 90g. They usually take 4 years to become mature enough to breed.

What is the footprint of the tank? Standard 90? 48x18x24? I think you will be ok just make sure you have a lot of caves and hiding spots for the females to hide.

I feel like such a noob right now... I've heard people say "footprint" so many times, but I'm not 100% sure on what you mean. Either way, yes it is a standard 90... I would most likely crowd it with flower pots.

If i have not seen it with my own eyes then i would not say anything, but...

I have been looking for a local breeders around my area and seen some of their tanks. There is this one with 5 tanks

Tank #1. standard 180 with 30 plus full growth wc zaire. Yes over 30 fishes from 9-12" :WHOA:

Tank #2. standard 150 with 40 plus med fronts from 5-8" kitumbas

Tank #3. 30 gal with over 50 juvi from 1-3"

There are more inside the house but i didn't see it so no info on them.

Think or say what you want but that's what ive seen with my eyes and fries are there to proved it.

4 in is kinda small female and the male would be more like 6-7. I think you would have some aggression issues especially with zaire's
