Ok I have a trio of Geophagus Orange heads in my tank that had bred for awhile now.I had two different batch from two different mothers but couldn't save them in time. I really want to know if those same females will breed with a different Male that I have in my tank. I only like him because he has good coloration on his body and has a tint of gold on him as he swims. My alpha male is descent with a grey and blue tint to him but does not have that coloration i want to used to breed with. So is it possible to do a switch and take out my alpha Male and leave the two females with the other male? or is it like the alpha male already won their heart and can never breed with another male?

I am going to show you guys my male and wonder which one do you prefer if possible?

My smaller male....I hope it is a male cuz he always fights with the dominate male...

i like the first pic,and as far as switching males i am not sure maybe a few people alittle more knowledgable with geo's could help you. But your alpha male looks incredible.

Thank you! i wish he has the scales of the other one haha so that he can shine as king of the tank..:naughty:

looks like a king to me,you have done a great job with him.

he was the last of his group that is still alive...i bought four a year ago and gave two to my uncle and those past away from his african cichlids. I had two but one became a snack to my jardini long ago and i was kinda sad...so i was fattening this guy up...the last survivor but i felt he was lonely so i bought some more from jeff rapps...haha...

i just started getting into geos lately,i have three geophagus pellegrinni(two females, one male)

they can be finicky fish, i would just let whichever ones that want to breed, moving them might stress em and then no babies

actually looks female to me, no trailers+not a ton of red head
