anything about breeding them will help...thanks for any input

The key to breeding them is having a whole lot in a concentrated area. Remove the females with eggs to a 2.5 gallon filtered tank. Once the babies are out put the female back with the others. Java moss should be used liberally to hide and feed the baby shrimp. Newly hatched brine shrimp and finely crushed flake foods work well as they move from filter feeding to taking solid foods.

thanks, but what temp. and ph sould they be in to breed though?

Ive never noticed either making a difference. The only critical element seems to be having lots of them together. Once they thin out they stop breeding.

if they are gut loaded, then they are pretty good. Usually I just use them to help get that "hunter" effect for the fish.

I use them as scavengers since I much prefer them to bottom dwelling fish.

By the way, the most economical way I have seen involves a 10g with ALOT in there. As soon as a female is spotted holding she is removed to a fish bowl with a sponge filter and some java moss. Has babies, put back in tank. This way you aren't using tons of energy and can make more shrimp and you'll ever need. The guy I knew doing it has 2-20gL going for breeding and about 10 bowls with fry.

on the nutritional value: They should have plenty of protein and the like, they are a natural food for some fish. of course I wouldn't feed only ghost shrimp
