I am wanting to breed Ghost shrimp so I have a steady supply for to feed my other fish. I have no idea on how to do that. Can anyone help me out or point me in the right direction. I know there are so many knowledgable people here on MFK.

Dont bother. Ghosties aare hard to breed and not worth the time or effort.

What are you feeding exactly? Coz if its legal in your area marble crays are a much easier breed if your feeding larger fish...

Or if its small fish you could breed some nicer cherry red shrimp which if you wanted to could sell on the sidr...

I am feeding them to my Motoro Stingray. Not has its full diet, but just so it can snack anytime it wants. Is it easy to breed the cherry red shrimp? I have no idea about breeding shrimp.

cherry shrimp are considered to be easier to breed than ghost shrimp. Generally it's about as simple as putting cherries of both sexes into a tank and they will breed. Sometimes you can buy females with eggs under them already, too.

cherries are extremly easy to breed cuz they dont go through a larval stage as ghosts do and they dont eat their young, but ghosts do. get a 20 gallon or larger, anything smaller and they dont grow to a worthy feeder size, get a light which will grow plants, toss in a few live plants, do frequent water changes, actualy religious water changes because they wont breed unless u change the water frequently. if u have any more questions, ask away

So do I basicly just get some cherries and put them in the tank and let them breed away. It there a way to tell male from female? What do I feed them?

Breeding ghosts isnt that hard imo. Now breeding as a food source, damn near impossible unless you have some sort of farm. Do marbled crays, convicts or guppies. Much easier and more production.

Its simple, but not quite that simple, since they need to be happy...

Get some substrate, driftwood and plants in the tank... Cycle and add shrimp would be the easy route since they like to be able to hide and climb...

Lastly just make sure to cover filter intakes to prevent losing baby shrimp
