If this tank is 36" x 18" (a standard 40G breeder) I would not keep any mbuna other than saulosi in it...fish too aggressive, tank too small.

These Msobo have really got my attention. Would a 24x24x24 work for them? It is a 60 gallon cube which I know is an odd size tank.

If not what do they need? A standard 55?

I would do a 75G rectangle for them. A cube is never a good tank for Malawi. Remember you can have only one male. Are the Synodontis off the table?
