The two 10 gallon tanks are under my 75 gallon, in the stand. :D

i would stop right now lol.
trust me you put two different sex guppies together and you will end up with more fish then you could ever possibly want. i know i did it. from the first two i had 60 in a couple months. i finally decided to get rid of them when the fry got old enough to start breeding, it was rediculous.

yea I was "lucky" as none of my guppies were cannibalistic so almost every baby lived from each drop.

they need guppy birth control.

i would try something more difficult to breed unless you really love guppies.
sorry if i sound negative, but what ever you do i wish you luck.

Haha, that's a funny story :)
I wasn't planning on keeping the babies, I'm going to give them away to my LFS.

Just wanted to expeirience it.
:naughty:

i just found 2 guppy fry in my 15 gallon planted tank yesterday.. they really like the java moss. i would recommend some.. it looks cool too..it doesn't need anything to grow so it makes it ideal for low tec tanks.

Hmm, so you don't need anything? you just put it in the tank?

Cuz I was debating on weather to breed guppies or plant tanks. I read up that you need like these pills that you have to put near their roots?

Cuz I could always go for planting tanks WITH guppies IN them :naughty:

java moss doesn't have roots its just like a bunch of free swimming green pubes.. its a very simple plant..

java moss will grow in a bucket of water in ur garage....

rooted plants need way more then just those '' pills '' u speak of....

if u want to grow plants i can help u.. but it takes a little bit of work and research.

i wonder how much oxygen java moss produces? its a very simple plant, its great for hideouts and a source of food for small young fish and invertebrates.

if u want oxygen then an air pump and air stone would be the best! u would need a ton of plants to produce any really oxygen..

I'm going to have a filter in the parent's tank, but an airstone for the fry because I read that fry get sucked into the filter

But if I don't have anything in the tank except a substrate, will the moss grow on the bottom like grass?
