I'm curious as to how many people have tried to do this or considered attempting this before...Now, please not, I'm not looking for a debate on whether hybridizing is ethical, natural, etc. I'm simply looking for people who have either intentionally attempted to breed hybrid herps (Note: Lizards, snakes, amphibians all apply) or have ever considered doing so. Also, any species names/pictures that can be provided would be much appreciated.

Iv considerd doin Female schnieders dwarf caiman with male cuviers dwarf. not sure if i will though. i have a good sized enclosure but not huge

I had considered breeding with a Cuban once... but due to her temperment I called off the project...

I'm also interested in why others might be interested in breeding hybrids - what would be your motivation to do so?

my motivation to do the combo i listed would be just to get some more variety out there. there isnt a large variety with crocodillians, and most rare types seem to be florida sales only! :irked:

also hybrid crocadillians command a steep price :)

if i was into herps alot more, yeah. i enjoy herps but they arnt my main passion. I love to look at them, study them, learn all i can about them but they arnt the top of my list to keep. but basically yes i would be williing to breed more hybrids. only though if their was enough breeding stock to maintain a large enough pure stock

What did you do with the offspring? If you kept them long enough, did you notice any commonalities with the originating species?
