breeding in a 75 or 55

Lilmixedboy are you serious??? Oscars maybe... but convicts? This guy wants to make some profit off the fry, and i doubt he will find an lfs willing take them for free let alone purchase them from him! They are just too common and prolific. So he will probably become over run with con fry that he cant get rid of or use them as feeders if he has other fish. Their just isnt profit to be made in cons unless maybe you could some how breed marbles or those weird 'blue' cons that have been popping up.

i agree, cons are cheap

don't worry guys. i won't even go near cons in this tank, unless i need a dither fish. i really like the whole Amphilophus genus, and other predominantly red cichlids. i also would like to breed aggresive, personable fish. do you think that i could breed festae in a 75 or ( i know) a 90? the manager at my 'big al's' has kept almost anything that you could imagine, and he told me that i could breed them in a 90, and there is a guy on here that has a pair of flowerhorns in a 75. do you guys think, that if i watched the aggression closely, it might work? thanks for the help so far guys.:)

you could breed them but they would need a bigger tank eventually males get huge like 20''
id say go with a pair of red tiger motas awsome fish
looks good
not very common
eazy to breed

red tiger motas can bring a pretty penny too give it a try

Get an EBJD and a JD with BJ and breed those. They bring in serious cash.

EBJD could make some money too everybody likes them not to common too i'd probly wan't to buy some

ebjds are cool, but i like red, and i heard that they are hard to keep alive. i like the red tiger idea, but are there any other opinions on the festae thing?

Well you could try the festae in a 90 but in the long run you need a bigger tank for them. But the 90 will work for a while since festae dont seem to grow very fast. You could do rd in the 90 maybe put in a divider if things get to aggro. Maybe even some mayan cichlids, they arent too common around here but i dont know how things are were you live.
