In the original video is the darker one the male?
I ask because I have a 5" Jag that is dark with bars and I assumed it to be female, because I thought the males lost their bars at the bottom.

yeah he is the male matey, i was like you i wasnt too sure at 1st but the female and male are very different fromm each other, my female is smaller with less bars and spots but not by much she is also the most aggressive out of the 2.
im thinking as they get bigger the female might get alot more color but she will still be smaller, i was told that because they are breeding it will stump the females growth or slow it down considerably.

these babys are growing really fast, i can see the black line along their sides and their small fat tummys

Congrats on your first spawn. Many more to come. They can spawn every 7 to 8 weeks. Mine do. I would suggest you take the fry out and put them in a 30g grow out tank.

if need be my lfs can ake the babys on for me untill i get everything sorted at the new home, i was hinking of just giving the lfs this 1st spawn anyway as the bloke their is really good to me so i like to return the favour
