Where abouts in canada are you. Take a drive out in the country and do some digging or do the old electric rod in the ground trick and spend a day getting some buckets of nightcrawlers. The time spent and money raising would be more than just doing this. Plus if you know the farmer he'll know the ground history. eg. fertilizers, rig spreads ect...
