very awsome,i lost one a while back.Whats your feed schedule and such.

I am sorry for your loss, hope you will try again. These guys are pretty easy to care for.

I feed them meal worms and crickets, 4-5 pieces per week. Substrate is peat moss by the brand "Horti" moss. As my place is pretty humid, I seldom wet the substrates, but I provide a water dish and ensure that it is always filled with water 24/7 (The evaporation also add on to the humidity).

wow, care to share what it takes to breed these monsters?

Hi Gr8KarmaSF,

First and foremost I make sure that I got a male and a female. Here's a discussion on sexing emperor scorpions, but technically it can applied to sexing of Asian forest scorpions too.

I comm one confirmed pair in a typical five-plan 1.5feet(L45xB25 cm; height don't really matters) tank. The diet and setup is basically explained in #11.

After which, I just wait for things to happen. :D

Due to my innate fear of everything from the class arachinida looking at these pictures made me queasy! Very cool though.

How does one care for the young? Any special requirements or is the feedings the same as the adults?

Those pics were more like what I was expecting! Do you know how many there are? When do you seperate them/they seperate themselves?

The baby scorplings will cling onto the mother's back for 1-2 weeks till their first moult, then probably they will get down and fend for themselves.

Diet wise, they should be able to take pinheads by then, cos a regular adult cricket might killed the scorplings instead. Another point to note is that, water dish should be removed just in case they climb in and get drowned. So this time round, I will have to perform regular misting to supply sufficient moisture. I received comments from other gurus that moist wood/log will also attract termites, which can kill/stress the scorplings too, thus I never include such decorations in the setup at all.

Thanks davo.

Today is the 3rd day of spawning, majority of all the scorplings have arrived safely and production has stopped. The mummy is now mobile again while previously she was stationary bringing her kids out to this world safely. :D

As for the quantity, I have absolutely no idea at all. There are so many spawns that some of the scorplings are clinging onto the their siblings by the side instead because there are no more space on mummy's back.
