Interesting to see if they will crossbreed !!!!

If you breed any of those cichla you have to send some to all of us in the US...:D

I am excited to see what you are breeding and will be:headbang2

To know the dominant inheritance for Cichla species, I began these cross.

At this time, pure original Kelberi (Araguaia) was selected for female melaniae.
12 hours after spawning, male intermedia was almost possible to breed.

I would learn how the fin spots, the bars, and the color etc are inherited.
These are the evolution that could happen in the future.

There is a place where melaniae and mono and pinima exist all together in lower Xingu. And there is another place that mirinariae and kelberi live same together. That is the most upper Araguaia region.

Can you image future look out of melaniae and kelberi ?

Of course I can do pure breeding as well.

I will add some photos when I returned to my home.

Very cool!! I cannot imagine what those cichla would look like mixed!!

Did you raise them together or just place them in a tank together? I have a male mono and a female orino together, and I think they have a possibility to breed. They were raised together from 4 inches and are now 14 inches. Any tips or pointers to get them to breed?

How many different cichla are you cross breeding?

Thanks!!

Wow thats great!!!!a sucessful crossbreed!!!!
