Breeding of Silver Arwana

If your are serious about a breeding project such as this, why not breed black aros instead. You will have to eventually sell off the offspring, blacks would be much easier to sell being that they are not as commonly available.

500G may be a bit small for 6 full grown aro's dont cha think?

Read`and comprehend Mystix, he stated "to start with", he stated nothing about "full grown" aros. Remember your the one who stated it would take 3-4 years for them to mature, right? So to start a 500g tank(pending demensions) would be fine. Plus as with any breeding project, you need lots of growout tanks and isolation tanks. The 500g would work perfect to isolate one of the breeding pair of arowanas.

first I'm no expert, but I don't think it will take 5 years to get them to spawn.. I think they can spawn in about 2-3 years, at least 18 inches.. maybe they might have to be bigger in the silver strain.. but look at this video..

I don't think their that big, and all that old... I understand that there jardi aeros, that only get about 30 inches total, but they don't seem full grown to me... but then again anything is possible...
