Breeding pair ideas

Divided the tanks just too small for a pair the male would have 2.5 x 2 ft to move around in

These have less room and seem perfectly fine. Like I said mine are in a 4' 75 and have yet had to divide em due to aggression. Just kept the male well feed and have a few targets to attack and you should be fine.

I like your original idea. Festae's are awesome but they are pretty popular at the moment. They may have more value now but at the same time they are more common imo and as more and more people are buying and breeding them you would think prices will drop.. I like red istlanums and have a male right now but greens are harder to find. Aside from istlanums and festaes... what about true parrots? Not as common, look good and you can fetch a good profit

Festaes are very nice but they're not very prolific and can try the patients of even the most expirienced hobbiests I one up the istlanum idea. I'm not sure if you want a pair u need to divide or one that doesn't need to be? Istlanums are just as hard if not harder on their mates as Festae but they are more prolific. Parachromis make for awesome pairs, amphilophus species, haitiensis, Cubans are all good options for you to consider

I just ordered 6 Vontehillos from Jeff. I am looking to raise them up and get a pair!
