they breed like insects. one day you'll have 2, then a month later you have 300, then month later you have 900.

That sounds about right.

If you dont want to keep all the convict fry, feed them to other fish. Even small tetras and livebearers will relish on small enough convicts.

thats what im doing now....breeding a pair of convicts and feeding the frys to my growing umbee's =] at least you dont have to worry about any disease transfering to other fishes when eaten like feeder goldfishes

i breed for color my 9th generation koi cons are just about ready to be sold.... almost perfect coloring..... if i get any black or pink cons i feed them to my gar or oscar
