Breeding Pair!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Plus one pair in a 29 is more than perfect.. 3 cubic feet in any given direction is ideal but a 29 is good.. You'll soon learn that dithers are a waste with a PAIR of cons

I agree with the amount of cons in such a place mine bred when they were just over a inch ina 10 gallon tank,I also had 6 in there but they ate the first batch of fry.

As for dithers any one have suggestions for jack demseys?

Cons LOL or fire nouths... LOL

Why Not.. Do you want dead dithers or living dithers?? Anyway probably should start a new thread about that.. What were you thinking Giant danios.. They'll get eatin.

My apologies for continueing to be apart of jacking your thread Webb..

i vote for no dithers too! leave the pair alone haha!
however if u want something that will eat algae and uneaten foods, u prolly can get away with chinese algae eater or dwarf plecos.

There is no need necessarily, but some people like the Aggressive torture factor.. My cons have no dithers, buuuut i wouldnt mind trying to put something in that could hold its own, and wouldnt eat my fry...

I had my 55 gallon set up with a 5"JD, a 5" blood parrot/red devil mix, 10 juvinille convicts and 5 tiger barbs. the tank was quite peaceful, until the cons started breeding. I have since move the JD and blood mix to another tank along with 4 of the cons. I redecorated with more rocks and driftwood to create breeding caves. Two pairs have each established territory at each end of the tank and leaving no room for the third pair so they are coming out as soon as I can catch them. As far as the tiger barbs go the cons chase every once and a while but the barbs are to quick and when they are in a group the cons are happy just to make them scatter. I think I'll take the 6 other cons Ive got to the LFS and get 5-6 more tiger barbs.

So I guess I am saying that maybe Tiger Barbs would be a good dither fish for Cons or JDs. Although with the temperment with either of these fish you really dont need to have dither fish.
