Hey! So my room Catfish Cove is of course by the name catfish themed. and I know a little while back I said i'd never get a pleco ever again.... but i'd like to try again. so I have a 29 hang on the back filter and just bought a sponge filter. so what kind of pleco should I do? should I stick with the typical bristlenose plecos? or maybe a pleco ore exotic?

Edit: its a 29 gallon

I’d go with a bristlenose to start off with and after a year I’d go with something more “exotic” if you wanted to. The year is to give you breeding experience which if I remember correctly you don’t have a lot of yet.

Don’t take this the wrong way but I see that you’re getting ahead of yourself comrade, and by this I mean I see you talking about breeding all the time. Slow it down and take your time with breeding, you're 15, you have decades to breed what you want, I say start slow and small and over the years build it up.

I understand, but I want to breed things to gain confidence, knowledge and money because I cant work for a few more years. and I always say this but I want to specialize in a certain species of fish which I want to be catfish. so when im older I can learn all about different kinds of fish and still be keeping, breeding and studying catfish

I have BNP that bread regularly for me. Supply them with a cave 1in to 1.25in diameter. I have clay caves and a log with holes drilled into it. The male used the clay cave until I drilled the log. Depending on were you are you can collect wood from nearby for use. Oak, maple, alder, Apple, Cherry, are all good. No conifer, pine, cedar. A 1in spade bit from HD is $7.
This is my clown pleco 29g. They haven’t spawned yet. These are alder logs with 1in or 1.25in caves about 5in deep. I collected the wood from the green space behind the house.

How many Bn plecos should I buy? Should I buy albino or just Regular Bn?

Get what you can afford. I have piebald, they throw 25% albino in a spawn. Try to find a local hobbyist. I was able to pick up Featherfin Green Dragon BNs from a local for $8ea. I was just on The Wet Spot's website yesterday and they are selling them for $20ea.

Bristlenose, there are so many colors as well as long and short fins.

They are easy.* Still took me almost a year to grow out and breed.
