no where
well my pair of FM tubes look the same except on the bigger one there is a bit more extenion on the tube that looks more skinyish.. so is th bigger one a male, do u guys think???? the the bigger one likes to tailwhip the smaller FM but she just isnt bothered by it.. so is the bigger one amale?????

You need to wait more than 17mins.
iam not sure on your question but you are trying to breed the FM's but when you do how will you raise them?

Why do you want to breed them. What do you plan for the fry. o you have the tank space? A bigger vent usually means its a female and is about to lay eggs.

ya what are you going to do with the fry if they ever lay eggs (and hatch) i can guarantee that they will be eaten with all of your other fish jam packed in there :confused::confused:

Here we go again...at least its not about mollies and platys and swordtails.

A female will have a much wider, rounder vent for laying eggs. Males will have a thinner, more pointed one, for depositing sperm.
The first pic is of my female managuense while she was laying eggs. Notice the huge, round tube sticking out?
The second is of my male, notice how it is much smaller and kind of pointy?

Hope this helps...

I just realized my texas is a male as I first thought and that my convict is the female, thanks for clearing up the breeding tubes as I wasn't 100% sure which was which, but it makes sense to me now, because my convict was reaaly fat 2 days ago the next day it was really skinny and there were eggs, and last night my Texas had a very long stream of what looked just like a spider web coming out of his tube, I'm guessing that it was sperm it was silvery white and was very long.

No problem. It probably would have been easier just to see if the convict had an orange belly though...:)
So you have a con texas pair? (sorry for the derail...)

To answer your question c_b, the large one with the pointy tube is a male, 100%.
