Yep......in a simple answer. I know of cichla keepers begging for male bass (kelberi's) for the most part.so the answer is...they can sometimes lay eggs without a male present


I really hope my mono increases in colour and patern then lol. He looks a bit lousy compared to yours. Heres mine at 11" or so.

You's is still 11" and the OP's pair is 20"+ he claims. I think there is much more room for color/pattern development while he grows from 11" to 20" plus. Wait and see.
At 11" now, your bass isn't a pure mono. Could you take a picture of the side of the head?
