A first for us, we have hatched rainbow cichlids. Parents have been pulled out. Were excited it seems to be a large batch for such a small cichlid. We put them in this small tank for two days, they bred and now theyre back in the community. Today theyve hatched and not yet swimming.uploadfromtaptalk1366049926538.jpguploadfromtaptalk1366049941383.jpg

Lots of little babies, weve started them on firstbites. Total about 50 so far, theyre solo in a 20 tall. No risk to them at all

In about two weeks or so well transfer to baby brine cubes, I also bought weighed spiralina flake to hand crush when ready. The parents already look like theyll breed again soon. Ive had texas breed monthly before. This is our first batch from rainbows, they are not full grown can this stump them? Should I limit the parents together to allow them to continue growing?

Yes it can stunt them if they breed too often. Plus the female will weaken as each spawning passes. Eventually that weaken can lead to her death if you don't give them breaks between spawns. Many breeders will either divide the tank or place one of the parents in another tank where the other parent can still see them. Letting the parents see each, but not get to each other keeps them interested in spawning so they will breed as soon as they are reunited.
