Hi buddy! that 2nd pic whot is suposed to be a female! looks male to me!! just going on shape of slender stomac" and the shape of fish!

4 months wiv just fighting/jaw locking" no tubes out yet!! sounds like 2 males haveing a little"" Lets see who the strongest"" battle!!

Best way to get a true pair of eney cichlid! is buy a dozen young and let em pair off naturally!! Sticking to grown cichlids together! Dont always work!!! eaven if they are male and female!!

Are there ways of sexing without venting?
I am in no way qualified to do so,Thank You

No, not really with RDs, Midas or mixes of the 2.

Net them, flip them over and look...heres what youre looking for:

Nice fish!!!!!!!They both look like males....If you can take a picture of their tubing, I can definatrely sex them.........Female tubes are thick and straight down...Male tubes, on the hand, are really thin...........The nuchal humps on the two really identify them as males.............Nuchal humps, also known as "KOKS," are a sign of a males maturity.........

You should try venting them. Like VRWC said, net'em and flip'em. You can do it. It doesn't take but a few seconds once you have them in the net. At least this way you'll have some peace of mind knowing one way or the other. Take a close up shot when you take them out and other members can help you with the sexing.

Just another voice adding to the opinion that from bodyshape (not necessarily the nuchal hump) they both look male to me.

venting really isn't that hard or stressful to the fish as long as your smart about it. the males vent will look like:oo and the females: oO.

I'm no venting expert but they both look the same (male) to me.....going by the new vented pics, not the first set posted.
