Heed the warnings! I had a pair that didn't breed for over a year and half so be patient if that happens as well.

I have had a full grown convict survive in my Cichla tank 2 of the 6 Cichla are 2' + needles to say that perticular convict got a release date on his sentencing.

When doing research for my Dovi I read some where that large groups of Convicts in the wild will hold a 24'' Male Dovi at bey as well so Listen closely to these truly hilarious stories. I have seen it first hand and yes Cons are everything there pumped up to be.

Trust what they are saying. Breeding Cons are the bravest, most tenacious, and the most diligent parents I have ever had the honor of owning. I had a pair that whipped my adult Tex and Jacks. The only fish that stood up to them was my Jag and even he knew when to swim away. Only a small number of their offspring was eaten. The rest were given away...over...and over..and over again! The larger the pair grew, the larger their clutch grew as well. I gave up that pair but have recently bought four more. What can I say, I love the guys. They got me into this hobby. I'm keeping these guys alone though until they pair off. Cons= add water and mix!

This is awesome. Now I feel like I have this disease growing in the 30. I'm becoming afraid that both tanks are in the same room. This is great, I didn't realize what kind of bad ass fish Cons are.

I agree Cons are very bad ***, my second breeding pair just released the wigglers from the shell I had the female had them hiding in.

I hope you have a lot of luck in breeding them. I never respected/noticed them before but in the past couple of years have found that there are among the top of the class when refering to breeding pairs. CONVICTS RULE! You will soon find out my friend.
