I had a breeding group of these barbs, kept them in a heavily planted sump/tank, lots of algae on the glass (unheated)... the eggs were invisible to me, and the fry, so tiny (again almost invisible), I would occasionally find clinging to the glass (almost as small as paramicium).
Some friends kept them in a shallow, breeder tanks with lots of marbles on the bottom, in that way the eggs would fall between the cracks, where the parents couldn't eat them.
After a bunch of eggs were "assumed" to be dropped, they would remove the adults, to let the fry develop unmolested.
