Breeding size for ebjd? 4.5" big enough?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Its a female I breed regular JD's and that is what my female looks like and it was confirmed when she laid eggs. Now all I need is for her to do it again:nilly:

What confused me was the long fins on her. Still new and I read that males have long fins so thats why i thought it was a male, but then i read that they have blotches like yours does and the males dont.

:grinno:
Picture 2 looks like the male and 4-5 look female if im correct then they should be able to breed. I am not 100% on this cause I am still new to this hobby.
pictures 2 and 5 are of the same fish. picture 4 is the new jd. picture 2 and 5 are of my big male the one with less blue is a 1 month old picture (not the fish). the one with lots of blue is recent. right now he has nothing but blue.

Well then why the night I got the little one was she(if female) and the big male sleeping together? And why would the big male go out of his way to shoo the sexist parrot fish(male) who hates everything female (killed his female parrot partner a was months ago it was cold blooded murder) who wasn't even bothering the big one but rather bullying the new female? Perhaps love at first sight? Cause it would be rather rare to find two males sleeping together on first day...

sounds like they could be a pair but the bigger jd could just be protecting the new one from the parrot fish
