when i bought my petricolas at an auction last year the man who was selling them said they are very easy to breed. as he did it on accident in a 20G. now 2 of mine died and i want use the three i have left to breed. one is 2" long and the others are 1.5". so how to i get them to breed and how can i care for the fry?

First you have to have adults and at least one pair. 1 1/2" and 2" fish are too small to breed. Lots of breeding info and videos on the internet. Do a search.

I had a group of 5 or 6 in my Mbuna tank before...they were wild caught. I didn't really got them to breed but every month or so, I can fish at least a few .5 inch catfish fry out of my canister...

Unfortunately the entire setup died in a heater accident 2 years ago :(

I've had a handful for years. None of the bigger ones are much over two inches. I guess some around 3 inches. But I've had many many many babies from them. I usually find them under neath the undergravel filter plates. I found some inside the Emperor for hundreds when I clean the filter, lol. I haven't had any of them have babies recently in the new tank, that I'm aware of. In my older setups I always had clay pots in there. Maybe that was due to my success. But most of the babies get eaten.
