Breeding yellow labs

12 females are a bit much. Yellow labs are pretty mellow so you can have a 1:4 and 2 or 3 males. Start out with 15 to narrow them down. Do you know how to vent?

I have six yellow labs and I was in the same boat. Wondering how to sex them. Are there any visual clues or only venting works?

From what I've read, the males are supposed to have more black and pointed top fins other than the rounded top fin females have but idk

No, there is no sure way to sex yellow labs then to vent.

The pectoral fins on my males are black and my females are yellow, also Rustys would work with the Labs and are just as easy to breed .

Like I said, no sure way. I've seen females that are much darker than males.

You should try venting them by using a flashlight to look at the anal hole of the fish
