has anyone bred crabs in captivity
Yep blue cobalts, and a wild green crayfish from the Niagara river. Watch your female and once she starts to show eggs under her tail remove the male. She will dig a nest and lay her eggs once they hatch remove the female and put her in a tank by herself. The male will try to breed with her as soon as he can. This will give her a break and allow hertime to gain some energy back. Feed the babies bryne shrimp, small crab pellits and put severl pieces of lettice in with them. It would be a good idea to add some clam shells this will add the calcium they need for exoskelton growth. DO not use an undergravel filter many of the babies will get injured.
