Breeding

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i would say get the biggest, normal pon sized goldfish or shebunkins you can, those are going to cost a few bucks, cuz the cheap feeders arent mature yet and will take atleast a year to reach maturity, if ur looking to breed something to feed ur bass go with convicts, they breed fast and they breed small

oh and we had about 3 dozen in the pond when they bred, with gravel and mud bottome and live plants and lots of aeration from a waterfall

thanks how many would i need tyo start... but remember my bass is ganna live off of them so how long am i ganna have to wait til i can start feeding my bass them

yo if u feed your bass goldfish it wont live long. goldfish r the worst food for your fish, high in fat, no nutrition, and they inhibit vitamin b absorption, meaning your bass is gona get sick all the time. go with guppies. theyre like 2 bucks each but once they breed ull have saved more dough than if you went wit goldfish. guppies and mollies r the way to go

breed shellies!

I've always liked to breed feeder guppies. They have stronger genetics and cost less. They are also prettier in the long run, with their correct posture and broader array of colors. Sure, you have to deworm and quarantine them for awhile, but it's a good thiaminase-free source of bass food.

The expensive guppies are usually weak and too inbred for their own good.

Have you considered marmorkrebs?

*edit: Hey, you're in Texas. Walk outside and net some mosquitofish. Easier than guppies!
