When breeding cichlids does it matter if they are in a high traffic area of the house? They are a pair of convicts as we all know they are water rabbits and probably one if not the most easiest fish to breed. I have them on my living room on a wall that divides the living room from the kitchen. I know they are ready to spawn went thru the motions but haven't produced eggs but yet my other pair in a tank directly across the room about 5' away have.

Think about it this way - would YOU engage in sexual activity in a high traffic area ? :)

In all seriousness - yes, it does make a difference.

Ok so im going to put em upstairs in my sons room for now

I'm a bit confused cause both tanks were literally with in arms reach of each other. I moved them to my 40 b in my sons room since that tank was empty and the room isn't being used since my son still sleeps in my room. I guess they like the move cause thier actually getting along again. Then again a 40 b is better then a divided 15.
