Hey guys i like to know the breeding process can anyone tell me in detail ? What i actually like to know is how can i identify that my female FH is ready for matting ? Now i separated my tank and monitoring it... and i have tryed removing the separator twice but they are fighting like LIP LOCKING... so what should i do ?help me out pls:cry:

Females will lay eggs when they are mature. It's not always possible to pair up aggressive fish.

Some pairs just won't get along...in this case, it's not likely that you'll get a successful spawn. If they do show interest in one another, it is possible to breed them between the dividers. I've mentioned this before and has worked for me: raise the divider high enough to slide a clay plate so that it is on both sides of the divided tank but allow the water flow to flow from the male's side to the female's side.

Another method I've seen but have never tried is to cage in the female with the clay plate in the center of the tank and hopefully he'll be able to fertilize them through the cage. Haven't tried this method but looks possible.

A third method I have is once the female has laid the eggs on the plate on her side, raise the divider for the male to come over and isolate the female to the other side...this will allow the male to fertilize the eggs...hopefully without eating them.

All a matter of trial & error sometimes.
