Brewers

You would if you drank all that cider, beer and mead! Ouch, my head hurts!

Brewing is actually pretty expensive.
Even after the equipment, the ingredients still cost quite a bit.

It gets much cheaper the more unrefined your ingredients are. Like if you buy grains and convert them into your malt instead of buying extracts and syrups, but thats much more advanced that begining brewers usually want to try at first.
Do it because it's a cool hobby but not for any cost savings. imho

As far as great craft breweries go, Michigan has a few that are world class.
Try any of Bell's or Dragonmead's offerings. Both very good breweries

Yeah, and I'll be falling out of bed! NO THANKS

I'd trade my knowledge and skills of brewing for some help with building a stand and sump for a 55 gal saltwater tank ;)

I'm actually looking to brew another batch next month. Thinking of maybe a American Pale or something I've never tried before like a Stout or Porter.

So far I've brewed:
Macadamia Nut Honey Brown Ale
Spiced Winter Ale
Kansas City Wheat
Newcastle Brown Ale
Hawaiian Summer Ale
Amber Ale

In my opinion, all have been good. Better then most big-company beers. Not necessarily better then some of the high quality craft breweries. But still better then many store bought brands. If you like lagers, then brewing may not be for you. It entails buying extra equipment to keep your batches cold while they ferment. So I generally stick to ales.

yea that does sound reallly good.... any chance in you sending me the recipe in PM??

The recipe is pretty standard, I just added in some toasted mac nuts during the boil and primed with some mac nut honey. The nuts provide a little oil, so carbonation is a little tame. But it also provides a nice earthy flavor to counter the overall sweetness of the brown ale. One of my better brews overall.

I'll send you the PM.

I'd trade my homebrew beer for some help building my stand and sump :) Didn't pay too much attention in shop while learning to use power tools.
