bright light vs. dim light

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Both- Have intense lighting and then some floating plants to the back and side, then the fish feel secure and you can still see them. makes everyone happy

All dim except a few planted tanks. I use mostly gro-lux flourescent bulbs. Cheap and very dim for pleco tanks.

Definitely dimmer lights. I only have the lights on about 6 hrs a day as it is but but strip lights on top of the 6'-8' tanks only cover 3' foot in the middle. I like the shadows and if I were a fish it'd make me feel more comfortable. Since they can't talk I'll just have to go with my instincts <g>.

Some where in the middle with hitachi aquarium light and sun glow. BUt if its a planted one would have to go for bright light like MH.
