The flora glo bulb is their lowest at 2700K (if I remember right), then the sun glo at 4700K, the Life glo 2 at 6700K, the aqua glo and power glo at 18,000K and then the marine glo which is just actinic. If you want a white light, just go to lowes and get a cool white 48" T12 bulb.

The specific peaks of the spectrum dictate the color more than the Kelvin rating.Danyal;1457388;1457388 said:yes, the actinitc lights produce almost pure blue spectrum that looks very nice when combined with a whiter bulb. the cool white bulbs i've found to be incredibly yellow and the 10,000k zoomed i had was very green, however the new lighting rod t6 looks very nice. basically the lower the kelvin temp the more yellow the light is going to appear while the higher the more blue/white it is going to look.
T8 bulbs are universal, as are T12s.ccdoido38;1457370;1457370 said:will those lowes bulbs fit the perfecto flourescent strip lights?
do you have any pictures of the bulb you mentioned above(in use)?
does the lighting color really affect the fish's color too? my bright silver bala shark is darkening day by day in my "purple" tank. and my id sharks are looking horrible now.
any pics?
what do you mean by combo? lik double lights?
