hey guys, just bought a few containers of brine shrimp eggs, just put them in water with the correct amount of salt,it was iodized but i was told that wasnt important,so its about their 3rd day in their "incubator"...theyre still not hatching....please help

the eggs were always in a dry cool place,i added 1 tbsp of salt to a liter of water,i put them outside, sunlight could hit it,yes its aerated,my only problem is...theyre not hatching

I've always used a SW pre-mix to hatch them out. You can now get it in small bags, about 5$ here. otherwise just might be a bad batch of eggs, it does happen. never used just reg non-iodized salt. Table salt is bad for your fish so probably not gonna hatch them out. and I always kept mine at a "roiling boil" to hatch out. GL!

Are you sure they didnt hatch? With the eggs and shells swirling around it can be hard to tell sometimes.Try a fresh batch. The more they are agitated by the bubbles the better the hatch, what kind of container is the hatchery? At 24 hours take out a sample and put it in a clear glass, hold it up to the light and see if theres motion, they can be hard to see.
If you got nothing then its a bad batch of eggs, youll just have to replace it.

Ok, this is how i hatch my BBS from eggs, and i have a great success rate with this method. First i take a couple of soda bottles and cut off the bottoms, then i make a hole in the cap and insert some aquarium air lines (same stuff u use from the pump to an airstone/curtain for an example). make sure that when u insert the tubing its only comming thru the cap by a centimetre or so, this will stop the eggs collecting on the cap lid when filled up (keep in mid that you dont want to add an air stone to the end of the tube thats in the bottle. You want air flow, not airation). Ok next you want to seal the airline to the cap using aquarium sealant and set it aside to dry. So, now you have your bottle (s) all ready for your water solution. I then get a 3 gal bucket and add 2 gallons of water ( add more water depending on how many bottles u got ) I find 2 gals is plenty of water for me as i use 4 x1 litre bottles in my hatchery set up. Ok so in my 2 gallons of water i add the reccomended amount of aquasafe water conditioner, 4 drops of bleach (unscented/unperfumed) and 4 heaped tablespoons of aquarium salt, the kind used for marine setups. Mix well. Now i add my bottles to my spare 55 gal to keep the water temp around 80f, but you can make some sort of frame and hang the bottle from it then set it somewhere warm if you dont have a spare tank. Connect the airlines from the bottles to your pump, dont switch on the pump yet. Fill the bottles up and leave atlest 2 " space from water line to the top, this stops your mix flowing over due to the air bubbles popping at the top. Next add 1/8th of a teaspoon of epsom salts and 1/8th of a teaspoon of rocksalt to each bottle. Turn on your pump to let the solution mix well. This is also a good time to adjust your airflow, i like the air gushing out myself mixin everything well. Ok after 5 mins turn off the pump and add the required amount of BS eggs, turn on pump and leave for 5 mins to let the eggs rehydrate, all the time you need to make sure the eggs dont stick to the sides, i use a small teaspoon for this. after 5 mins i mix again with a teaspoon to make sure all the eggs are not sticking to the sides of the bottle. As i said this can take up to 5-10 mins to make sure all the eggs are re hydrated. now turn back on your pump and leave for 18-36 hours depending on temp. You should be able to visably see the eggs thrashing around in the bottles, if not adjust your airflow accordingly. After the required time i stand my bottles by the windowsill ( u can use a lamp of some sort if u like) the BBS will collect and then you simply drain them off. If there is any unhatched eggs you can add these to your next batches :) hope this has helped:), as i said it works very well for me i have always got a freezer stuffed full of BBS;)

yeah...i checked, all i saw was about 5 white twitching buggers in there...they hatched after all...like..0.9% of them..thanks tho

I believe he's referring to the pre-mixed packets you can buy in fish stores. It's eggs, salt and whatever else mixed together in a packet. All you need is the water and hatchery.

Something like this...
