i have a little JD that is on hikari gold mini pellet,is it ok to feed brine shrimp as a staple?or as a treat?

No, brine shrimp is not a good staple food. Brine shrimp is generally not very nutritious.

Brine Shrimp is one of the best tasting foods for fish, but it's full of nothing. Probably the same effect on humans and chocolate?

Hikari is cheaper and better as a staple.

just a treat, but a high quality pellet like what you have or NLS is significantly better as a staple

Withold all the treats until he does eat the pellets, the fish may pout a bit. But a day of so in and his appetite will override any pickyness (in most fish) but some are more stubborn than others. Just gotta keep trying.

You could soak the pellets in a glass of water w/garlic extract. That might intice....
