Hi, I was wondering if there's a way (other than chemically) to bring the ph down in my tank? It's about 8.6 right now and I'd like to get it at least lower than 8.

Also, if there is something I can add, would it be like a saltwater tank where once you add the salt you don't need to add it again?

Does the water come out of your tap that high?

R/O unit will lower the ph. but they operate at gallons per day ,aka, very slow which is how you want to make ph changes.
How big is your tank and what is in it?

DRIFT WOOD. will lower the PH. Peat moss as well.

Depending on your hardness levels, it'll take a lot of tannins from both driftwoods and peat to make a siginificant difference in pH. What are your hardness levels, mriversinco?

I got a PH of 8.4 (tap water48 hours aged with an airstone and dechlorinated) and I am yet to have issues with it however I would like it to be an 8 too. Peat I hear helps
