Yes and No there are a lot of commercial fisheries in the UK and syndicated waters where you can join at a high fee and fish for a year with limited membership there is also the river systems these hold large carp barbell salmon trout bream pike Zander etc etc.

They get so big because of the high protean bait used to fish for them.

And yes they put up one hell of a fight on the right tackle.

Yes carp that have not been fished for and fed regally are an easy target like fishing my pond would get me a nice Koi, The challenge is once again the size of fish to the size of water to the strength of the tackle Dan pictured in this thread is holding a modest 2 lb carp this on his float rod that he has been catching silver fish on feels like a shark you enjoy what you have around you not every one can go down the road and catch a Barramundi. Don’t get me wrong I would like to but I cant.

you have not see the french they are verry funny with all the attention they give to carp

Have you actually every caught a decent size carp? I think you would be very surprised at the dogged fight they give its becoming very popular organised trips to Canada now.

I've fished my entire life. For years I fished on a weekly basis for trout, bass, panfish, monster catfish, gar....you name it. Carp fight hard. I've been spooled my a large carp on light line. On a fly rod, they are unreal. To top it off. They are large. And they live almost anywhere.

Good man:D this is what I am trying to get through In Europe they are a top coarse fish. In a lot of other countries they are considered trash. A loot of these people just hasn’t caught one. I know of a UK anglers who in summer only fishes for them on a fly and my do they put a bend in that rod. I say to all of you don’t knock it till you try it. Travelling abroad for carp fishing is now very much accepted by everyone and there is little doubt that it is the fastest growing area of the sport. Go out and catch one it right be trailer trash but its hard a nails.:naughty:
 
stotty we also have some realy nice carp here,i have personaly take some real huge one,with french fries,but to be honest all the anglers i know hate this fish because its not native,destroy all the delicate water sytem,and i supose the taste is not realy good.a lot like to kill them just for fun,here we can legaly use bow for them and this all the season long with no limits:(
