Just Released: A robotic fish swims in a tank at the London Aquarium in this October 6, 2005 photo. Robot fish developed by British scientists are to be released into the sea off north Spain to detect pollution. The carp-shaped robots, costing $29,000 each, mimic the movement of real fish and are equipped with chemical sensors to sniff out potentially hazardous pollutants, such as leaks from vessels or underwater pipelines. The robots to be used are bigger than those which were seen at the London Aquarium and they measure nearly 5 feet long -- roughly the size of a seal.
