Hi all,
I understand brochis splendens can be found in Northern Peru and Ecuador.
Can anybody tell me if they can be found in the Rio Tumbes or the Rio Esmereldas. Or better still can they be found in the same waters as andinoacara rivulatus.
Thanks in advance for any information as all my searching has returned very little conformation.

I can't find any info on Brochis splendens occurring that far north into Equador. This species occurs further south in the areas of Rio Ucayali, Rio Ampiyacu, and drainages around Iquitos, Peru.

Thank-you for your reply.
I checked on planet catfish and they have them listed as being found in Ecuador. This is the only source I have for this information. I just wondered if it were true and they could be found in nature with andinoacara rivulatus.

I checked collection journals. They're pretty reliable in their completeness. There's always a chance the databases have not been fully updated. For the moment, I cannot find any collection data of the species in Ecuador with any reliability. I checked the name you're asking about, the species previous name; Brochis coeruleus, or it's current name; Corydoras splendens.
