I'm not so worried about that, he went 3 weeks once being stubborn. Just haven't seen anything like this before. Gotta finish water changes then I'll update
as I always say, salt and stress coat for starters, if you are really worried some type of light, mild antibiotic to prevent infection or bacteria, even just Epsom salt would be fine. Healing isn't so much the issue as secondary complications.

You ever lip-grip a Bass while fishing?

Back in my early days (noob) I added a full grown male loiselle to a tank containing a half grown jag. Jag was boss for a day then the lip locking began, jags jaw ended up much like you describe. Rehomed loiselle jag healed up and came around in a little over a week.

Clean water keeps the injury clean. As long as you can avoid any secondary issues fish are surprisingly resilient. They have to be they're animals and it's a jungle out there.
