Broken shoal

Shoal's been brokeen, in 2 ways. The group of 4 are all on free falling cut smelt. BUT the shoal is also broken cause the 5th member had to be seperated. Was being very stubborn. No feeders for 3 weeks, the only thing it ate was a couple pieces of worm after the 3rd week. Since it was getting so weak the others began picking on it. After a pretty severe shanking to the forehead hump it was clearly in the danger zone. It was seperated to a 75 with the 2 Odoe runts.

when you feed smelt, do you notice a thin film of fish oil on the water's surface after feeding? and what do you do with it?

i noticed this oil in mine's and only way to get rid of it is a little water change.

It's normal. You should see my pond after I dump a whole pound in there...
My pond is really bad cause there's no surface skimming. I don't even notice it in the Armatus tank. Wayyyyy too much current, and the overflow's on the surface.

im concerned about water quality much more than the looks of it. plus when i open the lid i can really smell it! im using canisters so i dont have the same effect as in your overflow. id assume your overflow takes the oil out.

i swtiched to blue anchovies! no oil and both my armatus loves it!
