Broken whisker?

No one else is anywhere near aggressive except my green severum but he only messes with the top dwellers aka silver dollars and angelfish.

In general this is no problem as indeed barbels (and fins and skin) are often damaged in catfish. They use them to explore their environment, food, tank mates, rivals, breeding mates, etc. so they are always at the forefront of risk.

Inflammation is evidenced by redness, not whiteness. Whiteness is probably the flesh or cartilage.

If there is no redness, no fuzziness and the fish feeds and behaves as usual, chances are it'll be fine and will grow a new barbel in place of this one. If the damage is very close to the base, the new barbel may come out deformed, or shortened.
