Broko... New food new color

I've got my broko off of massivore and onto NLS. I've read the debates before and I'm not trying to take this topic there.... Let the pics speak for themselfs. The first pic was taken jul3 and that was the last week he took massivore. The next two pics are from tonight (one pic was with a flash, I hate using flash but I was trying to capture true color). About 1month later. He has taken nothing but straight NLS pellets.
He's about 15" now so I doubt its just a "growth spurt" with new colors.
Same tank same lighting same fish. Different food

Lol Kevin can vouch for my story he has seen this fish numerous times in the past year

The green looks good but I kind of like how it looks better in the 1st pic

He did have a cool golden brown color before but the point of the post was to show that in a months time he went from a bland dull to flashy bright colors. Now he almost has the brightest green out of all the bass in my tank
 
I must be missing something..the first picture I think he looks great..the second and third he looks like he's dull..is that your point?
 
I actually like the first one. I will try NLS on others fishs.
