1tsp per 100ltrs of water is good.

Also, say your feeding market prawns. Just dip the prawns in a diluted ES solution an feed it.
This will clear everything out from the stomach. Works as a laxative.

Diluted epsom salt solution? that sounds like the better option than dosing the whole tank, can you be more specific about the solution? like how do i dilute it, how long should the food soak, etc?
 
Just take two-three granules and mix it with a tbsp of tank water and soak the MP.

I have been doing this for a week straight, and now what seems to be happening is the swelling is staying consistent, and it seems like he has crap hanging out a tiny bit every time I look. I wonder if there is a blockage that can't make it's way out. Getting concerned because I don't see much crap. No worms hanging out though still which is alright. I wonder if I should try to catch him again and try to "milk" it out of him, just hopefully its not a big stone. Or maybe should I stop feeding for a while now?
 
white stringy poo indicates internal parasites, but not worms. get info from the freshwater diseases section.
 
no other symptoms though, how do I treat internal parasites when thats the only symptom? cure-all's in my opinion dont work veyr wellbut im willing to try if you can think of a good one. Since feeding epson salt his ass is really swollen to the point of prolapse almost and there is a black section now that looks like crap just stuck there trying to come out and cant. really concerned.
 
I would guess catching him and seeing if you can milk it out of him like you suggested.
That should atleast give you an idea if he ate a rock or whatnot....
 
i think i am going to starve him for 3 or 4 days before i try that to see if any crap passes at al first before i try to milk it out of him. poor guy. will try the milking saturday, last time i tried though i got nowhere and couldnt feel anything, though now maybe the epson salt moved it enough, i really hope it wont cause damage going out.
