I envy you. Brook trout are my dream fish. I just can't afford a chiller and my basement isn't cold like yours.

If the tank gets to hot they will melt. I know from experience. I think you saw mine when I had them. Great fish fun to have. Must keep the temps low. How hot does your basement get in June July and august? That is what you need to worry about.

Its going to be exciting watching him grow. I am currently working on pellets right now, he'll take them but then spit them out so I figured tomorrow I will soak it in something to see if that will entice him. I'm thinking the water from the tuna can.I am not sure what pellets your using but I got mine on food sticks with in a few weeks. Canned tuna is to messy to feed. Just stick to small worms, minnows, insects and pellets. Also if you go steel heading they love to eat the roe. I fed mine that and they loved it. Just have to get them out faster because the fungus up fast.

Thanks for the tips, I don't plan on feeding the tuna itself, just soaking the pellets in the juice to help entice the fish to eat them
Just an update on my brook trout, they are doing well and eating great. One has grown much faster than the other at this point so I probably will be down to one eventually due to aggression.
