Brooklyn Aquarium Soc is pretty good as a fish club, they are near the Aquarium not not part of it.
Like every other Aq club /society they have fish auctions at each meeting.
I have given a few talks there about Brazil / Amazon / Discus etc, they always get a decent turn out.
I have an article about rays in their sept/oct magazine
